One of my favourite things to do as a jeweller is to work directly with clients to create precious talismans that are as unique and individual as the wearer.
Whether this is creating a fairytale engagement ring, a future family heirloom or a special piece “just because” - this can be achieved through the Bespoke or Custom work process.
What is the difference between custom and bespoke work?
Custom work is based on an already existing design that is offered on my website, but with an alteration that is not offered on the website. The custom alterations can include:
- Metal alloy
- Gemstone size, type or shape
- Additional gemstones
- Engraving
- Finishing style (high polish/oxidised/satin)
Bespoke work is an entirely new creation, a true one of a kind, created especially for the wearer. We work together to realise your vision and create your ultimate dream bespoke jewel.
What is the price range for custom and bespoke work?
For bespoke work, prices start at $650 for sterling silver, $1300 for 9ct gold and $2500 for 18ct gold . (Prices in NZD).
Bespoke pricing includes extensive design discussion, the sourcing of gemstones (if necessary) and the labour involved in creating your one of a kind piece by hand and finishing it to perfection.
Custom work has no minimum spend, and pricing depends on the nature of the customisation. Customising an exisiting design is an excellent way to add a unique and personal touch in a more budget-friendly manner than the bespoke alternative.
Both custom and bespoke pieces require a non-refundable deposit to secure your place - this is then taken off the final amount.
What are the production timeframes?
I will always confirm timeframes with you when discussing your bespoke or custom project, but in general, estimate up to 6 weeks for custom work, and 10-12 weeks for bespoke work.
If you have a set date in mind that you need the piece by, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate.
